The journey to be a multitalented Software developer
Over the past three to four years in the tech world, it has been a journey of evolvement in my tech career. In the midst of opportunities in the tech world was where i found my part to success. Thinking i am a successful person?, Just getting started.
Back in 2016 was when I heard the word programming but was unable to go deep dive into it, not due to me not been serious but due to lack of it understanding and how it work. The first programming language I worked with back then was python, of course it was human friendly and readable. Programming to me was just a calculating software to me due to it first introduction I got. the only thing I use it for was to calculate simple arithmetic.
2017, there come the year of seriousness, A year of transformation. during this time was when I was going on my industrial training. I thought of what to do before getting a placement so i went to meet a friend who give me a well explanatory of software development and also gave me tones of tutorials on basic HTML CSS tutorials. I was grateful I took that step although what followed it was a terrible experience, wonder why I called it a terrible experience?, i write down my code in sheet of papers just to see that practice what i was learning. it was fun though because I can code using my imagination.
In 2018, I was opportune to make use of my cousins laptop(mini laptop). it was then i heard of an internship called LASUCODE which I participated in and was able to learn backend development (NODE JS). We were also told to learn a little bit of frontend which i don't like due to my hatred for CSS. i started searching for Youtube videos and got this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMT54MPz9oE, it helped in my knowledge of frontend but. I was focused on backend development due to my love for manipulations, logic and mathematics, so dedicated my self to learning and focusing on node.js very well. I made use of some random tutorials on youtube like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlB_eWDSMt4 but i needed more to quench my curiosity on working on a real life project, so i hop for udemy tutorial which give me more detailed information on how to keep track of you codes online by using git and github, i heard to watch extral vidoes on git to understand how it works by using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWYqp7iY_Tc
in 2020, I was opportune to partake in an internship called HNGI7, it was there i learnt how to use Figma to make some my first portfolio, this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk1T0CdLxwU help me in navigating my way through figma. it was then i got to meet like minded people, senior developer and mentors that help me a lot. i learn how to structure my code base very well, learn the concept of microservices why and how it work, i learnt a lot and i was happy to be in the internship. Presently an internship is wild open which is Zuri in collaboration with HNG. I suggest you hop for it internship.zuri.team so you can benefit from it before it close, also to win a T-shirt as becoming a finalist.
